Better Breathing for Better Health

The way we breath has a powerful impact on our health, how we feel, our anxiety levels, sleep, recovery, concentration, mood and so much more. High stress levels and modern lifestyles elevate our breathing and heart rate and overtime this can lead to a disordered breathing pattern.

Breath retraining focuses on the three core aspects of breathing – The Biochemical, Biomechanical and the Psycho-physiological aspects of breathing. Through breathing evaluation and expert guidance, you can take control of your breath and improve your quality of life.

How can breath retraining help?

Breathwork can help you overcome health issues

Breath retraining addresses the physical, chemical and psycho-physiological aspects of breathing and can minimise or eliminate symptoms associated with:

  • Asthma and COPD

How do I know if my breathing is dysfunctional?

Some common signs of dysfunctional breathing are:

  • Breathing through the mouth (during the day or at rest)

  • Upper chest movement when breathing

  • Hearing breathing during rest

  • Frequent sighing

  • Frequent yawning

  • Paradoxical breathing

  • Easily noticeable breathing movement during rest

Dysfunctional breathing can also lead to issues with the teeth and face such as bad breath, tooth decay, jaw dysfunction, narrowing of the jaw and face, crooked teeth, trauma to airways, enlarged tonsils and adenoids and dysfunction of the muscles on or around the mouth.

Over time a dysfunctional breathing habit can lead to habitually disordered breathing patterns which can lead to a range of physical issues.
